Windows games on your Mac, for free.
Freequay runs Windows games and programs on Apple Silicon Macs. It's Wine, built from the open source code CodeWeavers publish for CrossOver 26.3, plus a small app that installs Steam and starts your programs.

// Notepad++ is a Windows program, // running here on your Mac. #include <stdio.h> int main(void) { printf("Hello from Freequay\n"); return 0; }
- Support
- Freequay is free and comes without support. For something that just works, with support, buy CrossOver from CodeWeavers. They publish the code Freequay is built from and do most of the work on Wine for the Mac.
- Safety
- Only run Windows programs you trust. Like on a PC, they can read and change your files.
- Privacy
- Freequay collects no data. It goes online only to download what a step needs, such as Wine Mono from WineHQ or Steam from Valve.
- Licenses
- MIT for Freequay's own code. Wine, DXVK, MoltenVK, DXMT and the settings per game keep their own licenses, with the source of the LGPL parts at every release. Apple's D3DMetal is not part of Freequay. All licenses
